Quick Overview

The Wilma XL 5 x 25 Litre Pot Dripper System is a complete hydroponic dripper system for growing 5 large-sized plants. The Wilma XXL is based on the same concept as previous versions – a reservoir base supports a top tray and containers; nutrient is pumped from the reservoir up into the containers via a delivery system, dripper lines and dripper / flood arrows. The nutrient then flows through the substrate, down into the top tray and back into the reservoir, whereupon it gets re-circulated through the system.

Details

Place the reservoir in a central area underneath your grow light and fill it with water up to the fill-line. Place the top tray on the reservoir so that the large access hole is located near the front side of your grow area. Assemble the delivery system as shown on the instruction sheet (it's as simple as connecting three pieces of pipe), then position it inside the matching grooves on the surface of the top tray. The pump can then be fitted to the delivery system's riser pipe (the bit that sits inside the reservoir). Fit your dripper or flood arrows onto your dripper lines and fit the dripper lines onto the dripper nipples protruding from the delivery system. Choose the flood arrows (blue) for use with mediums like clay pebbles and choose the dripper arrow (black) for use with mediums that drain less quickly, such as coco and soil. Add your nutrients via the access hole, then make sure the inline tap is set to allow liquid to flow straight through the delivery pipe. Turn on your pump at the mains socket and nutrient will be circulated through the reservoir without feeding the dripper lines, allowing you to mix nutrients thoroughly. If you wish to do so, now would be a good time to position an airstone in the bottom of your reservoir. Oxygenating your reservoir is a great way to increase growth rates and improve overall vigour, and can also help to produce bigger harvests. All of the required equipment is available separately from the Grow Systems/Pots section. Essentially, airstones are connected to air pumps via air-line tubing. The pump then drives air through the tubing, on into the airstone and through your reservoir. The air pump itself should always be placed away from the reservoir above the water level to avoid back-siphoning (use a check valve to remove this possibility). The shorter the length of air-line tubing, the less pressure you will lose before it gets to your reservoir. The Wilma XL has a gap to accommodate air-line tubing just by the reservoir access hole. Fill the pots with substrate (soil, coco, rockwool, clay pebbles, etc.) and transplant your plants, taking care not to damage or stress delicate root systems. Run the dripper lines from the delivery system to each pot, with one at each side of the containers to provide an even coverage of nutrient. Most growers use a 24Hr timer such as the Grasslin time-switch to switch the water-pump on and off and thereby control the feeding times. Set your programmed time-switch to the correct time, plug it into a mains outlet and switch on. Plug the water-pump into the timer and it will then water your plants according to your chosen schedule. If you're using soil, we recommend buying a 7-day timer, to allow you to feed less regularly. Size: 1150mm x 1150mm x 250mm Reservoir capacity: 150 litre
